One of the most revered Burger restaurants in a competitive scene has made a stunning announcement, with Burger Head confirming that their two remaining stores - one in Botany and their flagship store in Penrith - will cease operating on Sunday, October 29.

In a statement on social media, bosses Tim and Josh wanted to assure locals and burger lovers that it wasn’t the end of the brand, with the group’s fleet of food trucks to remain in operation moving forward.

Full statement via social media:

"And just like that, all good things must come to an end.

We've made the devastating decision to close down our two remaining stores Botany and Penrith with October 29 being our last day of trade.

The past 7 years have been nothing shy of an incredible journey... but unfortunately, we've decided to hang up the apron. We want to make it clear that this IS NOT the death of Burger Head but merely a major pivot for us. Where we've been in the restaurant business with food trucks, we're continuing on with just the trucks.

There's no denying that hospitality is one of the hardest industries there is. To survive and thrive for as long as we have, we'll be forever proud of our accomplishments and eternally grateful for the support of everyone along the journey. To be honest, we thought we wouldn't make it past one year in business.

What started as a marquee pop-up in a 3x3m tent grew into a network of restaurants, trucks and a production kitchen... This has been nothing but sheer hard work from a couple young 20-ish-year-olds giving it a red hot crack. Over the next few days, we will write more posts and emails about the factors at play.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff, customers, suppliers and friends we've made along the way who have been on this journey with us and have helped us get to where we are today. It's a terrible shame that it has come to this, but Burger Head will live on in a different form. We hope to see as many people as possible over the next 8 weeks getting their fix at their local BH before we wrap them up."
